At Myrtle Creek Farm, the journey towards sustainability is an ongoing process, and our latest project is a testament to that commitment. As we lay the groundwork for our much-anticipated Hobart Sauna and farm stay accommodation, we're excited to share our green approach to construction and how it aligns with our vision for a more harmonious coexistence with the environment.

Sustainable beginnings: From hazardous trees to purposeful timber

Last year, a collection of hazardous Radiata pine trees on our property needed to be removed to ensure the safety of our surroundings. Rather than discarding the felled trees, we recognised their potential for a second life in the construction of our new structures.
We've meticulously repurposed this timber, transforming it into elements that will define the overall farm stay experience. From the welcoming fences that greet you upon arrival to the comfortable seating that will be the perfect place to unwind, and even the sturdy frame of our upcoming vegetable garden—all have been crafted from these repurposed pine trees. The spa and sauna structure will also proudly feature this sustainable timber,
symbolising our dedication to minimising waste and embracing sustainable materials.
Powering tomorrow: Renewable energy at Myrtle Creek Farm
While our farm stay accommodations take shape, we're also harnessing the power of renewable energy to ensure a minimal ecological footprint. Solar panels will find their place on-site, soaking up the sun's energy to power our operations and contribute to a greener environment. The integration of hydroelectricity is also under consideration, as we explore additional ways to harness nature's power for a more sustainable future.
A sneak peek into the future: Your off-grid getaway awaits
As the design phase of our farm stay accommodations rise, a remarkable off-grid experience is beginning to take form. Nestled within the heart of historic Tasmania in Collinsvale, our farm stay will offer an unparalleled connection with nature. You'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the serene surroundings while enjoying the comfort of accommodations that embrace sustainability - more on that later...

Embark on the journey with us
While the Hobart Sauna and farm stay accommodations are still under construction, the foundation of sustainability upon which they're built is already strong. At Myrtle Creek Farm, we're not just crafting structures; we're crafting an ethos that values the environment and seeks to leave a positive impact.
