A distinctive Tasmanian location for photo & film

Set in the hills of Collinsvale, around 25 minutes from Hobart, Myrtle Creek Farm is a restored heritage cottage surrounded by gardens, forest, mountain views and flowing creeks.

Combining early-1900s character with contemporary Australian farmhouse design, the property offers a considered and naturally varied setting for photography, film and creative production. From textured interiors and reclaimed timber to the outdoor bath, sauna, gardens and surrounding landscape, each space brings its own character to the frame.

We're open to enquiries from photographers, filmmakers, creative agencies, publications and brands looking for a distinctive Tasmania photo shoot location, as well as selected creative collaborations that align with our approach to design, nature and slow living.

Location hire

Myrtle Creek Farm may be available for approved photography, filming and commercial productions, subject to availability and the nature of the project.

Location hire is suitable for creatives and production teams who need access to the property for a defined shoot. Depending on the project, arrangements may include a half-day, full-day or multi-day booking, with accommodation discussed separately where required.

To help us assess your enquiry, please tell us about the project, proposed dates, crew size, spaces required and how the resulting content will be used.

Commercial shoots, additional crew, equipment, furniture movement and any use beyond an ordinary accommodation stay must be approved in advance. A standard accommodation reservation does not automatically include permission for commercial photography or filming.

Creative Exchange

Good things happen when creative people collaborate.

Myrtle Creek Farm is a small, independently run property built around a love of thoughtful design, the natural environment and the slower side of life. We're interested in working with creatives who share that sensibility and can bring a fresh perspective to the property.

Through our Creative Exchange, we occasionally collaborate with photographers, filmmakers, writers and content creators whose work feels like a natural fit for Myrtle Creek Farm.

These collaborations may involve a hosted stay in exchange for an agreed selection of photography, video or other creative work. We're particularly interested in original storytelling that captures the character of the cottage, its design, the surrounding landscape and the experience of staying here.

We're also open to hearing from creatives who offer a different approach or skill set that could contribute meaningfully to the farm's ongoing story.

Who can apply?

We welcome proposals from:

  • Photographers and videographers with a distinctive visual style.

  • Travel, interiors, architecture and lifestyle creators.

  • Writers and storytellers working across travel, design and slow living.

  • Creatives with ideas that align with our values and visual identity.

You don't need to have the largest following to be considered. We value the quality of your work, the strength of your idea, the relevance of your audience where applicable and what the collaboration could contribute to both parties.

What we're looking for

We're interested in considered, original work rather than content created simply to secure a complimentary stay. Tell us what you'd like to make, why Myrtle Creek Farm is the right setting and what you could contribute in return.

Your proposal might include photography for our website and marketing, short-form video, a travel or design story, social content or another creative concept. We consider each proposal individually and agree on deliverables, timing and usage rights before confirming a collaboration.

How to propose a Creative Exchange

Email us via the below link with examples of your work, your proposed concept, the accommodation you're requesting and what you would offer in return.

Please include your preferred dates and the number of nights requested, along with any other people who would be staying or involved in the project.

We receive a limited number of collaboration opportunities and cannot accept every request. A hosted stay is not guaranteed, and submitting a proposal does not constitute a booking or an agreement to collaborate.

Planning a shoot at Myrtle Creek Farm

To help your project run smoothly, we ask all photographers, production teams and collaborators to discuss their requirements with us before confirming dates.

Please include details of:

  • The creative concept and intended use of the content.

  • Preferred dates and expected duration.

  • The number of people attending and vehicles required.

  • The rooms and outdoor areas you would like to use.

  • Any equipment, props, furniture changes or special access requirements.

  • Whether you need accommodation as well as shoot access.

  • Any particular timing, lighting, sound or weather considerations.

Myrtle Creek Farm is a private rural property with natural, uneven terrain and creeks. Access to certain areas may be limited by weather, safety, environmental conditions or other guest bookings. We ask all visitors to respect the cottage, gardens, wildlife and surrounding environment.

Drones, open flames, significant installations, additional visitors and other activities that may affect the property or neighbours must be discussed and approved in advance.
